Kennewick to Vancouver
We traversed the state of Washington from the southeast to the northwest where we crossed the border at Blaine. It took all day. We started in open country and high prairie but soon found ourselves in gentle valleys following rivers, including the Columbia River.
In time the land became more mountainous and the valleys narrowed. We entered the Cascades where we encountered rain. At one stage it seemed like driving through a car wash. We also saw snow, although we weren't nearly as high as when we were in the southwest deserts.
Eventually we emerged on the Pacific side of the Cascades, skirted around Seattle and arrived at Pacific Border RV Park. We are mere meters away from the border.
We will be here for three nights so it's a chance to catch up on some laundry and grocery shopping while also seeing something of Vancouver.
