Dawson City to Carmacks (6 June)

It poured with rain for the first 2 to 3 hours of this trip so the mud we had acquired on the road from Chicken soon disappeared. However the rain meant that we couldn’t see much of the countryside.  We drove alongside rivers and went up and down gentle hills but no steep climbs. Eventually we arrived at Carmacks which is on upper reaches of the Yukon river. Even this far up it is a wide river and flows quickly with snow melt.

Tomorrow we go to Whitehorse.
