Houston (12 June)

Yes, the wifi is good and we've managed to make all of our daily posts since Whitehorse.

We retraced our steps from the side journey to Stewart and rejoined the Cassiar Highway at Meziadin Junction. We carried on down to Kitwanga where we hoped to see some totem poles but the instructions defeated us. (We later learned that they were written for people driving in the opposite direction.) We eventually reached "The Hazeltons"; there is an Old Hazelton and a New Hazelton.

We diverted to see the Old Hazelton, an historic mining and logging town which is now geared for the tourist industry complete with freshly painted fronts of buildings and a replica stern wheeler.  We lunched in our van while we enjoyed a pleasant view of the river.  We drove across a one-way  suspension bridge across a deep and spectacular gorge.

We also managed a glimpse of the famous but distant Seven Sisters.

Finally we arrived at Houston and good wifi.
